School Site AAA/GATE Parent MeetingsEach elementary, middle, and high school in the Capistrano Unified School District has an AAA/GATE program and AAA/GATE coordinator. These coordinators conduct three AAA/GATE Parent Advisory Committee meetings each year. All AAA/GATE parents are welcome to attend their school site's AAA/GATE Parent Advisory Committee meetings. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss specific elements of the school's AAA/GATE program, such as the school's AAA/GATE plan, budget, and extracurricular activities. In addition, the AAA/GATE Parent Advisory Committee meetings contain a parent education component, where current GATE educational issues are discussed. If you are interested in attending an AAA/GATE Parent Advisory Committee meeting at your school site, please check your principal's Listserv Newsletter or contact your school site's AAA/GATE coordinator for the meeting dates. Click below for a list of the AAA/GATE coordinators at each school site: CUSD GATE GrantThe AAA/GATE Program at Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD) is funded by the California State Board of Education. In order to receive state funding, CUSD must submit a GATE grant to the State Board of Education. GATE grant applications are approved for 1, 2, or 3 years based on criteria in the State Board of Education's Recommended Standards for Programs for Gifted and Talented Students. Click on the link below to view CUSD's most current GATE Grant. This grant received exemplary scores, and therefore CUSD's AAA/GATE program earned three years of State funding.
