Dear Ambuehl Parents and Community Members,
Please review Ambuehl's website on a regular basis for updated school information 24/7, from upcoming holidays to school news and events. Up-to-date school information will be posted and updated weekly.
Class lists will be posted near the front office windows on Friday, August 29 at 11:00 a.m. Class lists will remain posted over the Labor Day weekend and on the first day of school.
After checking out the class lists on Friday, August 29, stop by your child’s new classroom any time between 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to meet his or her teacher! As last year, “Meet and Greet” is an informal time for students and parents to stop by the classrooms and “Meet and Greet” their teachers. There will not be a formal presentation. Please keep in mind that teachers are still setting up their classrooms, but would really enjoy meeting their new students and parents/guardians during “Meet and Greet.”
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2. Remember, it is an early release day for 1st – 5th graders (7:45 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.). School is in session for only one hour due to “Kindergarten Orientation” in each kindergarten classroom. We encourage parents to attend! Kindergartners and their parents/guardians will learn about their new teacher, the kindergarten curriculum, classroom routines (arrival and dismissal, etc.) and classroom highlights (centers, calendar time, etc.). Listed below are the kindergarten start and dismissal times for the first day of school.
- Early Bird Kindergarten: 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
- Late Bird Kindergarten: 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Ambuehl's front office will have the following schedule this week:
- Through Friday, August 29 (8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
- Closed for lunch (12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
Ambuehl's front office will have the following schedule during the school year:
- Tuesday, September 2 to Thursday, June 18 (7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
Volunteers (parents, community members, etc.) in CUSD are an integral part of the classroom program, and the district encourages individuals to work in the classroom on a regular basis. Volunteers must be screened before working in classrooms, as per a new CUSD policy that went into effect on July 1, 2008. If you plan on volunteering at Ambuehl or any other CUSD site for the 2008-09 school year, please take the time to review information contained on http://www.capousd.org/parent.htm#vol, and click on the following links: CUSD Volunteer Handbook, Volunteer Application Form, fingerprint letter, Request for Live Scan Service, TB test letter, and Aeries School Codes. Further detailed information is posted in the "Hot News" section of this website.
