Carl Hankey School opened in 1978 and
is located within the City of Mission Viejo, a rapidly expanding
South Orange County residential community. It serves approximately
700 students in kindergarten through eighth grade from a diverse
socio-economic segment of the community.
The mission of Carl Hankey Elementary School is to promote education as a cooperative effort among home, school and community. To support this vision, we provide a disciplined, safe, caring and nurturing environment in which children are successful and become responsible, contributing members of society. While teaching the essential basic skills of reading, mathematics, social studies, and science is our most important priority, we, also, work to develop students' physical, emotional and social skills. In addition, students are provided opportunities to develop their artistic skills through music and art. Teaching strategies are designed to fit the needs of all students regardless or race, socio-economic background, or intellectual capabilities. We celebrate every student's accomplishments and work hard to meet each student's needs.
