- Each CHOOSE teacher is certificated and most hold degrees beyond the Bachelor's
Degree.
- Each teacher has taught in the classroom, and has experience in a variety of grade
levels. All teachers have had training with different learning styles, and teaching
techniques.
- The CORE Tests and the CA T/6 Tests are administered at the CHOOSE Office.
- A CHOOSE student must take his or her standardized tests at the CHOOSE Office, even if he or she is taking a class at school.
- Each month, you will receive an informational newsletter highlighting activities for
that month.
- Testing schedules are included in these newsletters; please make a note of them in your calendar.
- Topics, dates and times for fieldtrips and workshops are included in the newsletter, thus allowing you to decide in which activities your student will be participating.
- Optional small group instruction will be scheduled throughout the school year.
- Workshops are taught by CHOOSE certificated teachers.
- A CHOOSE certificated teacher can require a student to attend workshops as a condition of continued enrollment in CHOOSE.
- Work compieted in workshops may be submitted as a work sample. However, it may only be submitted during the attendance period in which it was completed.
- Behavior Policy: A student who is disruptive during workshops will receive two
warnings. A third warning will preclude the student from attending any future
workshops.
- Optional fieldtrips, which enhance the curriculum and encompass a variety of
interests and grade levels, are offered during the school year.
- Space is reserved on a first paylfirst served basis. Sign-up with the clerk.
- Due to liability, students or siblings who are not enrolled in CHOOSE maynot attend fieldtrips. However, siblings may attend theme park "Home-School" days.
A CHOOSE student can access his or her CUSD school of residence. A middle
school student may take up to two classes at his or her school of residence. An elementary school student may participate in Meet-the-Masters or the Block Music program. Contact your CHOOSE teacher for additional information.
