Welcome To Crown Valley

On behalf of the entire staff at Crown Valley Elementary School , it is my pleasure to welcome you to our web site! Please check back often to find out about school and community events.

Building Dreams for the Future is the collaboratively developed theme that runs through Crown Valley Elementary’s comprehensive instructional program.  Strong academics, scholarly attributes, community service and character education are all integrated throughout the curriculum.

Students from all walks of life add to the richness and diversity of Crown Valley’s population.  Serving the community for 40 years in the rolling hills of Laguna Niguel, Crown Valley is viewed as the core of the neighborhood and represents more than just a local elementary school.

High expectations and focus on learning and making certain that every child meets or exceeds California grade level performance standards are the school’s hallmarks of learning.

Long known for its model gifted program, Crown Valley teachers deliver instruction to high-achieving students using differentiated instructional strategies, including curriculum compacting, acceleration, depth and complexity.  The development of scholarly attributes and key character traits are defined and encouraged among all learners.  Crown Valley teachers serve as trainers of teachers throughout the district.

Students who are in need of additional support are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of intervention programs.  Crown Valley offers assistance to at-risk students throughout the school day and after school.  Reading and ELD Intervention Programs serve students after school.  Additionally, every Crown Valley teacher has been trained to provide intervention support in class for struggling students.

The school is host to several specialized programs, including the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Special Day Class programs.  An on-site Occupational Therapy Clinic and Intensive Behavioral Institute provide a multitude of unique services for identified students.  Perhaps Crown Valley’s finest feature, the dual program model, allows students with special needs and those in the regular education program to learn side by side.

Technology is thoroughly integrated throughout the curriculum.  Crown Valley Elementary is very proud of it’s new Dell computer lab! The lab is complete with 35 computers and a projector to assist with the instruction. Each school day students visit the school’s lab to research online, create PowerPoint presentations or word process. Both primary and upper grade classrooms have iMac computers that students use at a ratio of 1:10.

Finally, the Crown Valley learning community is committed to providing students with a solid academic foundation.  Working as a Professional Learning Community, or PLC, the staff understands the importance of reviewing student work samples and assessment data both within and across grade levels. By working as a team, Crown Valley has built a strong, cohesive instructional program. The school community recognizes the importance of establishing and maintaining a strong partnership between home and school.  It is with commitment and pride that the entire Crown Valley school community joins hands to make certain that children reach their academic potential.

Again, we are pleased that you have logged on to our web site. Please book mark our address for future visits. We look forward to your participation and involvement in our school

Sincerely,

Anthony Bogle
Principal
