Peanut Allergies
Please be very aware that some of our students have saver allergic reactions to certain foods. At no time should any food be given to another student in the classroom or at the lunch tables without the teacher’s permission. Please see the suggestions below as an alternative to bringing in food.
Here are some creative ideas for parents to use in place of food to recognize their child's special day.
*Birthday favors: Erasers, pencils, stencils, rulers, read their favorite book to the class, card (bought by parent) signed by Mrs. Samuels, teacher or classmates
*Donation to the classroom: Books, bookmarks, pencils, board games, balls, jump ropes, etc.
Head Lice
Parents please be aware that we have had some reported cases of head lice. It would be prudent to check your student regularly to help stop the spread of head lice. If your child does have head lice please report it to the office immediately so that the school can take additional measures.

District Information
You may have heard recent stories in the media regarding skin wounds and staph infections. In these times of heightened awareness we want to keep you informed of Capistrano Unified’s guidelines. CUSD follows the guidelines recommended by the Orange County Health Care Agency.
For the safety of all children, a student who has any open sores or open wounds should not be at school. If the wound is draining or oozing the child should stay home, see a doctor, and bring a “Physician Clearance To Return To School” form to school to be readmitted. For medical information about staph infections please contact your doctor.
For further information about this topic or any other student health issue, please go to this link on the CUSD website: http://www.capousd.org/health.htm
