Building Successful Students
Dear Parents of Students at Don Juan,
It has been both a privilege and pleasure to serve the students and parents of this Aliso Viejo community the past seven years as administrative leader of Don Juan Avila Elementary. The 2007-08 school year will be my final year as Principal. It has also been a great experience, full of fun times, precious moments, and exciting challenges. I will cherish these memories in my retirement.
As my time at Don Juan comes to an end, I thank each and every student and parent for being so kind and supportive. I have appreciated the way you’ve treated all our staff members with respect and courtesy. As I have said so many times before; this is just one of the many reasons why Don Juan Avila is such a great place for students to learn and for teachers to teach. I am forever grateful for the generous support given to me and the school over the years by the parents and other members of the surrounding community. I would like to personally thank our outstanding PTA parents for their leadership and their unlimited energy and dedication to “Every Child, One Voice.” Without them our school would not be the warm, welcoming, memory filled place that it is today.
I have been so fortunate to have worked with such an outstanding group of educators who through their tireless efforts have skyrocketed our school to academic excellence. The professionalism and dedication of Don Juan Avila’s teachers is unsurpassed! I know that you will continue to work as a team towards the academic success of our young scholars.
The district will be looking to fill all open positions later next month. I will certainly keep you informed as I learn more. My promise to you is I will work closely with your new principal to ensure the best transition possible. Please support and welcome the next administrator and continue on the path we have started to always achieve “excellence.”
