What
is the focus of the DIAL Certificate Program?
The
DIAL certificate program examines how teachers can differentiate their
instruction and assessment practices to meet the needs of all learners,
including English learners, special needs and gifted students. We are
pleased to offer both an elementary and a secondary program.
How
is the certificate program structured?
The
elementary and secondary DIAL programs run as sequential cohorts, with
35 -40 teachers in each program. DIAL is a rigorous program that requires
a commitment to attend 13 sessions (45 hours). Teachers who choose to enroll in this program
are expected to actively participate during each session, complete homework
assignments, and present lesson(s) in a formal lesson study protocol.
Consequently, if you are in the process of clearing your credential, involved
in CUSD Induction as a participating teacher or support provider, or are
enrolled in a Master's / PhD degree program, we strongly urge you to complete
those programs before enrolling in DIAL.
How
do I participate in the program?
If you
would like to enroll in one of the upcoming cohorts, or have questions,
please call Betsy Schmitz at 234-9410 or e-mail her at bcschmitz@capousd.org.
