Physical Education

Children's health and physical well-being is as important as the ability to compute, think and create. Today's youth needs to develop attitudes, actions, and a daily commitment to healthy living practices. Our curriculum is designed to help children acquire movement skills and incorporate them into useful game skills and strategies. Each grade level is responsible for integrating a P.E. program into their weekly schedule.

Highlights for P.E.

There are a number of extra physical activities provided for the students at George White. Every month there is a "Motor Lab" which enables students to rotate at different exercise stations. A new school-wide fitness program was established in 1998, called Families In Training. The six-week program encouraged families to participate in daily activities to reach a weekly goal. In addition, the school provides fun theme activities such as the Turkey Trot and Jump-4-Your-Heart. Lastly, at the end of the school year, a school-wide Field Day is scheduled so that classes can participate in games and win ribbons.
