OUR COMPUTER LAB....

This year George White Elementary School was lucky enough to build a new computer lab. It consists of Apple G3 computers which have access to many software programs. All classes have a 30-40 minute session per week. During that time our students are either word processing, exploring educational programs or collecting information from the internet. We are also working on implementing some lesson plans that will correlate with the districts curriculum.

Here is a small sampling of what your child might be doing during computer lab:

Kindergarten- Bailey's Book House, creating holiday cards, learning the alphabet.

First Grade- Kid Pix Studio, typing, drawing, and printing in a multimedia program.

Second Grade- Kid Pix Studio, choosing fonts and using all the drawing tools.

Third Grade- ClarisWorks, learning about font size and style, printing and saving.

Fourth Grade- Netscape, how to do a search and print from the internet.

Fifth Grade- ClarisWorks/Kid Pix, how to copy templates between programs.
