Coming together is a beginning,

staying together is progress,

working together is success.

Dear Parents and Students,

As we begin our third year at Oso Grande Elementary, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of the new families entering our school and welcome back all of our wonderful returning families.  It is my honor and pleasure to be the principal of such an outstanding elementary school that enjoys tremendous support from our school community.

All of the staff at Oso Grande is dedicated to providing the best possible education for your child.  Working with you, our parent community, we will continue to build a school with high academic standards, a warm, nurturing atmosphere, and well-behaved and respectful students.  Our goals remain the same:

· Allow every child to achieve to his or her potential

· Create a small school feeling where everybody feels a part of something special and worthwhile

· Establish active parent partnerships to promote student learning

· Use technology to enhance student learning and home-to-school communication

· Create a culture where character counts for all stakeholders

      (our BEARS traits)

 Be Ready,

 Encourage Kindness,

 Accept Responsibility,

 Respect Others,

 Solve Problems

I encourage you to be our partner in your child’s education by getting involved.  There are many, many opportunities for you to get involved including participating in school events, attending parent information meetings and conferences, becoming active in the PTA and volunteering in your child’s classroom.  These elementary years go by so quickly and yet are the foundation to your child’s educational future.  Your involvement will ensure that your child gets the most out of their elementary experience.

We look forward to working with you as partners to help your child achieve at his/her potential while creating happy and lasting memories for the years to come.

Until next time. . .Go Grizzlies!
