Welcome to the Palisades website!
It brings me great joy to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Melissa Murray and I am the new
principal at Palisades Elementary. The 2007-08 school year will mark my 12th year as an educator. I have had the
pleasure of teaching kindergarten, first, and fourth grade. When I decided to pursue a career in administration,
I started as an assistant principal at Pinedale Elementary in Clovis Unified. After moving to Orange County,
I became an assistant principal for Corona-Norco Unified School District. As a Learning Support Specialist for
Capistrano Unified School District, I have worked at Philip Reilly Elementary, Bathgate Elementary, Chaparral
Elementary, and Kinoshita Elementary.
I am very proud to be a member of the Palisades family! A community with a rich tradition of excellence and
a collaborative spirit of teamwork committed to maintaining excellence in academics and personal conduct for our
students. I value the opportunity to work in partnership among home, school and community to continue our
commitment of fostering in students self-direction, self motivation, and the ability to recognize the importance
of learning. I look forward to meeting all of you as we continue to build a rich tradition of excellence for
our children now and in the future!
