Kindergarten through 5
George White Elementary School, located
in Laguna Niguel, is a kindergarten through
fifth grade campus. It is nestled in the
foothills above Chapparosa Park. George
White opened in 1990 with an emphasis
on high expectations for academic learning,
appropriate behavior, and Kids In Community
Service. More than a decade later, we
proudly continue to celebrate excellence
in education, and we are honored to be
recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School
and a California Distinguished School.
At George White Elementary, we know that
the elementary years provide the opportunity
to build a strong academic foundation
for students. It is also a time to develop
an interest in arts, music, physical fitness,
community service and technology. It is
with these beliefs that a well-balanced,
challenging and multifaceted program has
been established at our school.
An emphasis on the development of the
whole child is integral to the success
of all of our students. The special needs
of all students are met, whether they
are gifted, limited-English speaking or
learning challenged.
Our staff at George White is proud of
our students and their accomplishments!
High standards are set both academically
and behaviorally. Student achievement
and behavior is reinforced with George
White Knight Awards, Principal Awards,
and Achievement, Behavior and Creativity
(ABC) Awards, and monthly attendance awards.
A positive and caring atmosphere exists
in which teachers and staff model respect
for students, parents, community members
and one another.
Parent involvement is valued and encouraged.
An active and supportive PTA is the foundation
of our parent involvement. Our school
community benefits from the many volunteer
hours that are given by parents, the fun
activities that are planned, and the sponsorship
of such activities as the Reading Olympics,
Art Masters program, and Kids In Community
Service (KICS).
At George White Elementary, our staff
members, students and parents are committed
to building a tradition of pride and excellence.
Through our collaborative efforts, a positive
learning environment that promotes student
success and achievement is flourishing.
It is the mission of George White Elementary
School to produce students who demonstrate
mastery of basic and advanced academic
skills in accordance with their potential
in each major curriculum area. All students
are expected to demonstrate respect for
others, maintain regular attendance, and
exhibit good citizenship.
