of the Hawks
Located on top of a scenic hillside near the Pacific Ocean in the City of Laguna Niguel, Moulton Elementary School has been successfully providing a high-quality educational program for students since 1975. A tradition of high expectations and academic standards, combined with a strong partnership between parents and our school staff, resulted in the designation of Moulton as a California Distinguished School in 1997 and a National Blue Ribbon School in 1999. Moulton's enthusiastic staff serves approximately 725 preschool through fifth grade regular and special education students.
Children are recognized on a consistent basis through High-Five Hawk Awards over the school's public address system (K-HAWK radio), and during Formal Friday Super Hawk Awards Assemblies in the multipurpose room. Formal Fridays bring out the best in students as they dress in suits and gowns. The principal wears a tuxedo and staff members dress as if they are attending a Hollywood awards show.
Upper grade students have an opportunity to be newscasters, directors, editors, and reporters on MBC (Moulton Broadcasting Company). MBC is shown throughout Moulton School's closed-circuit cable system approximately once per month. MBC has been honored with a national Telly award for broadcasting excellence and various awards for best news broadcast in California over the years.
Parents are actively involved in their children's education at Moulton through membership in the PTA, by serving as volunteers in several school programs, and as participants on School Site Council. The Moulton PTA funds a variety of activities and programs to support Moulton School, such as Art Masters, educational assemblies, the Boo Blast, field trips, and the Moulton Talent Show.
Moulton School has a positive and influential impact on students, parents, and community members.
