Grades: Preschool through 5
Reilly Elementary serves nearly 600 students
and is located in the heart of Mission
Viejo, adjacent to Pavion Park. Community
members and parents are regularly involved
in our school, volunteering their services
to teachers and children.
Our staff at
Reilly provides a comprehensive, balanced program which promotes
high scholastic achievement for all students. Emphasis is placed
on student-centered learning activities which allow them to apply
skills in language arts, social science, science and mathematics
to real-life scenarios. Our teachers incorporate character education,
problem-solving opportunities and higher level thinking skills into
lessons across the curriculum.
Technology is used to support the academic program at Reilly Elementary. A computer lab is located adjacent to the library and is equipped with Macintosh computers which allow students to meet Capistrano Unified School District’s CORE technology objectives. All classrooms and the lab have secure Internet access for student instructional support. In order to maintain state-of-the art equipment at our school, Reilly’s School Site Council and PTA have allocated funding for a 32 unit mobile laptop used primarily by our upper grade students. Reilly Elementary also has ten special education classes for severely handicapped students on campus. Having these classes at our school enables us to provide opportunities for students to develop an appreciation of individual differences and limitations while promoting a respect and understanding among all our children.
In addition, a full-time resource specialist is available to assist students with learning disabilities who spend most of their school day in the regular classroom. Teachers differentiate instruction within the classroom to meet the needs of all learning levels.
Additional support, materials and programs are available for gifted and talented students as well as for at risk students.
At Reilly Elementary, we believe that education is a collaborative process and a community responsibility. Our PTA actively supports our many school activities such as educational assemblies, the art program and Discovering Science.
