Mission:
The
mission of Palisades School is to encourage students to seek excellence
in academic achievement and personal conduct. We are committed to
fostering in students self-direction, self-motivation and the ability
to recognize the importance of learning. We believe that a close
partnership among home, school and community is essential to our
children’s success.
Palisades Elementary School is located
in the scenic Capistrano Beach area of
Dana Point and boasts an exemplary instructional
program for students in a safe and secure
environment.
Palisades
places a high priority on effective, quality
instruction in all subject areas. Our
students are provided with an instructional
program that is balanced and integrated,
with an emphasis on basic skills. Critical
thinking skills are acquired within a
hands-on learning environment. High expectations
and standards are maintained for all students.
Palisades
Elementary School prides itself on having
a computer lab with a 1:1 student/computer
ratio, networked computers and Internet
access throughout the school. Upper grade
classes are equipped with multimedia centers.
Palisades continues to expand our computer
software library to meet the diverse needs
of our student population and and keep
pace with changing technology.
Numerous
opportunities for student recognition
in the classroom and schoolwide help provide
our students with the self-esteem essential
for success.
Parent
participation and involvement is a key
factor for the success of children. Palisades
Elementary School enjoys strong support
from parents who volunteer in and out
of the classroom.
Our
school is also unique in the fact that
many of our parents are alumni of the
school and have their own childhood memories
of attending Palisades. We are proud to
be a true neighborhood school.
Palisades
is fortunate to have a strong PTA, which
supports the instructional program by
providing funding for additional technological
support, art supplies, drug awareness
programs, the art masters programs, a
computerized checkout system for our library
and field trips. These efforts enhance
the learning environment. All parent and
community involvement is valued at our
school.
Palisades
staff members are dedicated to providing
a program, which is student centered and
where every child’s self esteem is
nurtured. The best educational experience
possible is provided to every student.
