Center for Student Success
The CENTER FOR STUDENT SUCCESS (CFSS)
is a friendly, caring place for families, children, school
staff and community members. Our bilingual staff provides
information, referrals, and access to various services for
students and their families.
JOIN THE C.L.U.B.! PROGRAM
JOIN THE C.L.U.B! (Children Learning with Unlimited Boundaries)is a comprehensive program offering expanded learning and enrichment opportunities after school. As part of the C.L.U.B. Program, CFSS at San Juan Elementary has offered the following afterschool academic and enrichment classes: Reading, Math, Book Club, English Language Development, Homework Club, Junior Master Gardeners, Academy of Engineering, Arts Station and Performing Arts classes. Parent Education
In collaboration with the CUSD Family Resource Center, Capistrano Adult School, Mission Hospital and the CHEC Family Resource Center, parents have access to a wide range of classes including: English and Spanish classes, G.E.D. certification, Family Computer, Family Literacy Nights, Family Math Nights and Nutrition & Health Education. Classes will be offered throughout the day and in the evenings.
Community Liaison
Lynn Elliot is in her 8 th year as the San Juan Elementary Community Liaison. Mrs. Elliot facilitates the Parent Volunteer Network, including Parent Compacts and the ParentCenter. The Parent Center is located in room 41 and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Parent Center is a great resource for parents and teachers alike. Teachers may drop off special projects for parents to complete. Parents with young children are able to bring their youngsters with them while they help with these projects. Please contact Mrs. Elliot to make arrangements. The Community Liaison also assists with OperationSchoolBell, Shoes that Fit, the home-school connection, home visits and interventions.
Counseling Program
Ms. Veronica Briseño is San Juan School’s full-time, bilingual counselor. Ms. Briseño assists 4th and 5th grade teachers with the implementation of the Positive Action Program that is nationally recognized to help students improve in the areas of academics, behavior and character development. Ms. Briseño is available to assist all students and their families.
The Orange County Department of Social Services outstations a bilingual social worker at the Center For Student Success. University interns provide anger management, conflict resolution and social skills counseling for students and families in need. They are available by appointment only. Also, a counselor from the CHEC Family Resource Center is available to provide families with counseling services.

Medical
Clinic Van
Camino Health Center brings
a mobile clinic to our site. The van is available to anyone
in the community who requires immunizations and TB tests for
their children. CHDP children’s physical exams(including
the required physical) will be offered free of charge to qualifying
families. Regular medical visits and dental referrals to their
Dental Clinic are also offered on a sliding fee scale.

Learning Link
Learning Link is a walk-in center that offers
academic, health, and language enrichment to children 0-5
and their parents to better prepare children for success in
kindergarten.
