ArtFieldTrip: 6th, 7th and 8th grade students enjoyed a lunch break in the park above Laguna Beach before visiting the Laguna Art Museum.

MuseumOfArt: A hands-on art project building paper and wire sculptures at the Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach.

Mrs. Reish's 6th, 7th and 8th grade art students took a wonderful field trip to the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach and the Laguna Art Museum in Laguna Beach. In the morning the students toured the Orange County Museum of Art and then had the opportunity to build imaginative and wonderfully creative paper and wire sculptures! After lunch in the sun, overlooking Laguna's main beach, they then toured the Laguna Art Museum. A special exhibit there featured the work of Fernand Lungren who was a turn-of-the-century pleinair (meaning impressionist artists painting of outdoor light and air) artist who beautifully captured the south west golden glowing landscapes of the desert and ocean. Art students incorporate studying art history into their curriculum throughout the year and this was a wonderful opportunity to look at the original works of a noted artist.
