WHAT IS AN ESCORTED BUS STOP?

Escorts are available on designated bus stops for those students needing to cross the street on which the bus is parked. Not all bus stops are escorted.

WHY AREN’T THERE SEAT BELTS ON THE SCHOOL BUSES?

Any new bus manufactured after 2002 will have seat belts. Crash tests have revealed that use of seat/lap belts may result in more severe head and neck injuries for belted occupants than unbelted occupants.

Parents can call as early as 6:00 AM (489-7272) for this information. The Bus Pass Office doesn’t
open until 8:00.

CAN I PURCHASE A BUS PASS OVER THE PHONE?

No.

HOW DO I OBTAIN A BUS PASS?

If you send in a payment by mail, we will mail the bus pass back. If you send in a payment through the bus driver, we will send the bus pass back through the bus driver.

CAN MY STUDENT USE THE TEMPORARY BUS PASS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE COVER LETTER?

Yes, only while the Bus Application is being processed.

IF I CHOOSE A SCHOOL OF CHOICE, WILL I ALWAYS HAVE TRANSPORTATION?

No, not always. If you move and decide to continue at your student’s current school, you may lose transportation.

CAN I DRIVE MY STUDENT TO ANY BUS STOP?

Yes, as long as it is safe and your student is not crossing any major streets to get to the bus stop.

IF MY STUDENT IS ISSUED A CONDUCT REPORT, WHOM DO I CONTACT?

Contact your school Principal. Do not contact the Bus Pass Office as they are not part of this process.

COUPONS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE STARTING WITH THE 2003-04 SCHOOL YEAR. HOWEVER, WE STILL HONOR COUPONS THAT WERE PURCHASED IN THE PAST.

Students may, however, use up their coupons until depleted.

CAN MY STUDENT TAKE A SKATEBOARD ON THE BUS?

No.
