Red Light Law
California Vehicle Code requires that motorists stop when school buses activate the flashing red lights, indicating that the bus is loading or unloading children. Motorists who are approaching the school bus on the opposite side of a divided or multiple-lane highway are not required to stop. This is the only exception! When you see flashing red lights activated on a school bus, prepare to STOP! Violation may result in fine or suspended license.
