In order to attend the California State Preschool Program, families must meet eligibility guidelines. There are several ways to be eligible for the CSPP, however a priorty system has been designed by the California Department of Education. Registration and Enrollment Process:

The following steps outline the registration process:
Step 1: Enroll your child in AIR by completing an Online New Student Enrollment. 
Once you enroll your child in AIR, you will receive an email within 24 hours with your child’s new Student ID Number. 

Step 2: Use your child’s Student ID Number to submit an Online Preschool Application at:
https://webapps.capousd.org/preschoolapplication/, you will receive an email upon submission with a confirmation and and links to download additional documents required to complete your child’s registration. 

Step 3: Please plan on bringing in all supporting documentation to one of our enrollment sessions. We will print your completed application for you. We will be offering three CSPP Open Enrollment sessions:
  • Monday May 22, 2023, from 8:00am-12:00pm, District Office, Board Room 
  • Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 8:00am-12:00pm, District Office, Board Room 
  • Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 8:00am-12:00pm, District Office, Board Room 

Please note that if these days and times do not work for you, you may call our office or click on this LINK to schedule an enrollment appointment. Please sign up for an appointment ONLY if you are unable to attend any of our open enrollment sessions listed above. 

Step 4:  Families will be notified during the enrollment session/appointment if their child has qualified for the CSPP. Families will be notified via mail with a Notice of Action letter on their placement for the 2023-24 school year within 30 days of your enrollment session/scheduled appointment.

Other Important Information

  • Our PK classrooms serve children ages 3 & 4. Children must be 3 years old by 12/1/23 to enroll, and children must be 3 years old to attend. For children turning 3 years old after the first day of the school year, the child’s first day of school may be on or after their 3rd birthday.
  • Please note that every attempt is made to honor placement requests, but placements are contingent on program availability.
  • School site changes may occur prior to the start of the school year depending on enrollment.
