AHERA Inspection Report

Improving the health and wellness of students and staff is of utmost importance thus prompting our annual, three-year, and six month inspections. We work with vendors staffed with personnel certified by the California Division of Industrial Relations, Department of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) as Asbestos Consultant (CAC) to complete regular testing at all of our district buildings.

Notification of Pesticide Use

The Healthy Schools Act of California requires all school districts to develop an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Plan and make it accessible to the public, especially to parents and guardians. In the IPM Plan, the coordinator is identified, and a phone number, email address, and website are provided to help answer questions. Also included in the plan is a list of chemicals that will be used in the School District for the school year. The plan also identifies practices that are utilized to reduce the pest population, and reduce chemical usage in Capistrano Unified School District.

If you have any questions about the IPM Plan, please contact Gerardo Manjarrez-Mata, Manager II, Maintenance and Operations, via email at gemanjarrezmata@capousd.org or call (949) 234-9527.
