AHERA Inspection Report

Improving the health and wellness of students and staff is of the utmost importance, which is why we conduct annual, three-year, and six-month inspections. We work with vendors staffed with personnel certified by the California Division of Industrial Relations, Department of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) as Asbestos Consultants (CAC) to complete regular testing at all of our district buildings.

Asbestos Management Plan

We regularly follow the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Management Plan for our regularly scheduled inspections.

Notification of Pesticide Use

The District maintains an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Plan in accordance with the California Healthy Schools Act. The plan identifies the District’s IPM Coordinator, provides contact information, lists pesticide products that may be used during the school year, and describes practices used to manage pests while reducing pesticide use.

For questions about the IPM Plan, please contact Gerardo Manjarrez-Mata, Manager II, Maintenance and Operations, via email at gemanjarrezmata@capousd.org or call (949) 234-9527.

Solar Program

Led by a coalition of CUSD High School Students who created a powerful, supportive movement through petitions, a website, and social media, this solar project is expected to save, on average, $849,000 a year, for a total of $21 million in savings over 25 years.
