Digital Citizenship
At Capistrano Unified School District, we are committed to helping students use technology safely, responsibly, and effectively. As part of this commitment, students participate in Digital Citizenship lessons based on the Common Sense Media curriculum.
These lessons support students in becoming thoughtful, respectful, and informed digital citizens both in and out of the classroom.
What Students Learn
Our Digital Citizenship program focuses on age-appropriate topics such as:
- Online safety and protecting personal information
- Responsible communication and digital etiquette
- Cyberbullying prevention and response
- Media balance and healthy technology use
- Evaluating online information and media literacy
- Understanding digital footprints and long-term impact
