The California Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) is a statewide program that helps schools provide mental health and wellness support for students, such as counseling, screenings, and help during difficult situations. Through this program, health insurance plans help pay for certain school-based mental health services so schools can continue and expand support for students. There is no cost to families parents will not receive bills, copays, or deductibles for these services. CUSD will ask families to voluntarily share their child’s health insurance information to help the district receive reimbursement, but this does not affect the services a student can receive and the information is kept private according to state and federal privacy laws.
