Bus Pass Submission

Renewal Forms and Applications may be submitted online (preferred) or in person between 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, according to the applicable renewal or application window:

Bus Pass Cost

Annual Round-Trip Bus Pass: $575.00 per student*
Reduced Fare (if eligible): $300.00 per student*

*Bus pass fees are prorated beginning the first business day of October and will update on the first business day of each month thereafter. For additional information, please contact the Bus Pass Office.

Bus Pass Renewals

Eligible returning riders must submit their renewal form (based on current-year eligibility) during the renewal window. If there are no changes and the renewal is received before the deadline, the bus pass will be mailed to the home address on file 2 - 3 weeks before the start of school.

For Bus Pass Applications - Free or Reduced Fare Bus Pass Eligibility

To qualify for a Free or Reduced Fare bus pass, families must meet income eligibility requirements.

Families must first complete a meal application through the Capistrano Unified Food and Nutrition Services Department website.

If approved:

1. Log in to your SchoolCafe account
2. Download your award letter
3. Submit the letter when applying for a bus pass

Bus Pass Application Processing

Applications are processed in the order they are received.

When your application reaches our processing queue, you will receive an email with further instructions (please allow up to 4 weeks).

At that time, you will be required to submit:

Payment, and/or
Your student’s lunch award letter (if applicable)

Please watch for the follow-up email. You will have five (5) business days to respond.
If we do not receive a response within that timeframe, the application will be cancelled.

Additional Information

All bus pass applications are subject to review and may be modified or cancelled.
If a district bus stop is not available, the application will be cancelled and the parent/guardian will be notified by email.
CUSD does not provide bus service for School of Choice. Parents are responsible for transportation.
